    May music with Michael Jerome Browne

    Music at Two Whales is back!!! On Saturday May 16th, we have Michael Jerome Browne visiting us from Montreal. Michael is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter of acoustic blues and roots music. With numerous Canadian awards and international recognition, we’re thrilled to have him join us in Port Rexton for a fun night of music.

    Summer Market on June 27th

    We’re hosting our first market of the year on June 27th! Join us from 4 to 8pm for live music, a special summer themed menu, and a lineup of talented local crafters and makers from across the region.

    furry friends Community art show

    We loooved our community art show last spring and we’re so excited to announce that we’re doing it again! This year’s theme is FURRY FRIENDS!

    During the months of May and June, we invite creators of all ages and skill levels to submit artwork celebrating your pride and joy — your pets. We can’t wait to see those sweet little faces brighten up the coffee shop walls!

    All mediums are welcome (as long as we can hang it on our walls!). Artwork can be dropped off at the shop during the last week of April.

    July Music with Hunt & murray

    On Sunday July 12th, we’re excited to have Hunt & Murray spend the evening with us! Hunt & Murray have been playing unusual folk music together since summer 2023. They have entertained audiences at venues such as The Black Sheep, Peter Easton Pub, The Battery Cafe, and in 2025 hosted Folk Night at The Ship Pub.

    Emily Hunt (upright bass) has been playing Bluegrass music for 25 years in Newfoundland as well as British Columbia. She can regularly be found taking part in the Bluegrass Brunch sessions at The Ship Pub. Emily also plays with Sooky Couch Girls, Blueberry Pickers and plays classical music with the Tenacious String Orchestra.

    Sean Murray (acoustic guitar) has been an active musician in St. John’s for over 30 years, primarily as a vocalist or lead guitarist, playing and recording with numerous bands as well as occasional solo gigs. In recent years Sean has played and/or recorded with The David Picco Band, Megan Marshall & Vibe Galore, and Sherry Ryan’s Country Jamboree. Sean released an album of his own original songs in 2015.

    August Music with Ana & Eric

    We’re thrilled to have Ana & Eric join us on Thursday August 13th! Ana & Eric are a Brazilian duo based in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, known for their unique blend of Brazilian bossa nova and North American indie-folk. The duo has performed in Brazil, Europe, and Canada, gaining international recognition. In 2020, they released two singles, “Hope” and “Lights My Way,” followed by their debut self-titled EP, which earned them a nomination for the 2021 ECMA Awards and three nominations at the 2021 MusicNL Awards.

    Their debut album, Our House From Here (2023), along with the singles “I Can See Our House From Here” and “Manhã de Abril,” received acclaim in Brazil, Portugal, and Canada. The album was nominated for Global Recording of the Year at the 2024 ECMA and received three nominations at the 2023 MusicNL Awards.

    Ana Luísa Ramos, the duo’s vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, also received individual recognition at the 2024 MusicNL Awards, winning in the categories of Jazz Artist of the Year and Global Artist of the Year. In 2025, Ana won the ECMA Global Release of the Year with her song “Clouds.”
